Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all services provided by Lux Auto Detailing Inc. (“Lux,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to its customers (“you,” “your,” or “Customer”). By booking, scheduling, or receiving any service from Lux Auto Detailing Inc., you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

1. Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to offer a stress-free detailing experience for our customers.

2. Vehicle Condition & Disclosure

Your vehicle and the use of proper detailing techniques are our first priority. We will not perform any service that presents a reasonable risk of harm or damage to your vehicle. Prior to service, you must disclose any cosmetic or mechanical issues that could interfere with completion of the detail, including but not limited to: a low or dead battery, a trunk that will not open, windows that do not roll down, pre-existing damage, or malfunctioning components.

Failure to disclose such issues in advance may result in the appointment being cancelled or modified on-site, and the full charges described in Section 8 (Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy) may still apply.

3. Health & Safety

If your vehicle poses a potential threat to the health or safety of our technicians, you must notify us before the appointment. This includes, without limitation, the presence of needles, drugs, drug paraphernalia, gasoline, biohazards, weapons, or other hazardous materials. You are solely responsible for any health or safety issues, injury, or resulting costs arising from undisclosed hazards in your vehicle.

Lux reserves the right to immediately stop or refuse service, without refund, if a technician's safety is reasonably believed to be at risk.

4. Right to Refuse Service

Lux Auto Detailing Inc. reserves the right to refuse service to any customer or vehicle, at its sole discretion, at any time, including on arrival.

If your vehicle cannot be serviced once our technician arrives — due to non-disclosure of an issue under Section 2, inaccessibility, unsafe conditions, or your absence without prior arrangement — you will be charged the full amount of the scheduled appointment.

5. Appointments & Scheduling

We aim to arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible. Circumstances beyond our control (traffic, weather, prior appointment overruns, safety concerns) may delay arrival. We will never compromise technician safety to meet a schedule, and we will contact you as soon as we are aware of a delay.

6. Service Duration & Delivery of Service

Estimated service duration varies by vehicle size, condition, and the package selected, and will be communicated to you at the time of booking. These estimates are provided in good faith based on typical conditions but are not guaranteed completion times.

Actual duration may be extended by factors including, without limitation, vehicle condition, weather, add-on services requested on-site, or circumstances outside our control. Lux will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any significant delay to the estimated completion time. A delay in service delivery does not, by itself, entitle the Customer to a refund or discount, except as expressly provided in Section 11 (Refund Policy).

7. Pricing & Additional Charges

Pricing varies by vehicle size, package selected, and vehicle condition. Additional charges apply for, without limitation: heavy staining, excessive pet hair, excessive debris removal, personal item removal, and steam cleaning, due to the additional time and materials required. Any additional charges will be communicated to you before being applied, where reasonably practicable.

8. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We require a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment.

A hold for the full amount of the scheduled appointment may be placed on your provided credit/debit card twenty-four (24) hours prior to your appointment.

An “appointment” is defined as one (1) scheduled vehicle. Bookings covering multiple vehicles are treated as multiple appointments, each subject to its own cancellation terms (e.g., a $500 booking covering five vehicles at $100 each, if cancelled outside the permitted window, may incur a $250 cancellation fee corresponding to the affected vehicles).

If you wish to change your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, you have the following options:

  • Reschedule at no additional cost. You will be charged for the appointment at the time of rescheduling and may select a new date and time.

  • Cancel with a cancellation fee. Any card hold will be released, and the applicable cancellation fee will be charged to the same card. This option is available up to six (6) hours before the scheduled appointment. Cancellations with less than six (6) hours' notice are limited to the reschedule or gift-card options below. An appointment is not considered cancelled until confirmed by a Lux representative.

  • Convert to a gift card. Where circumstances have changed (e.g., the vehicle has been sold), the full scheduled amount may be converted to a gift card for future personal use or as a gift. Gift cards are non-refundable for cash.

Lux reserves the right to withdraw the rescheduling and gift-card options for fleet or business vehicle bookings, at its discretion.

No-shows (failure to be present or provide access to the vehicle at the scheduled time, without prior arrangement) are treated as a cancellation with less than six (6) hours' notice and billed accordingly.

9. No Guarantee of Results

There is no guarantee that any service will restore a vehicle to a specific condition (e.g., “showroom new”) or match a particular before/after example. Results depend on the vehicle's age, materials, existing wear, and pre-existing damage or staining.

10. Payment

We accept cash, e-transfer, credit card, and other payment methods made available at booking. Payment in full is due upon completion of service. Where payment is made online in advance, your card will not be charged until after service completion, unless a deposit or hold is required under Section 8.

Where a service is financed through a third-party payment or installment provider, that provider's own merchant, refund, and dispute terms apply to the financed portion of the transaction, in addition to Section 11 of these Terms.

A charge of $50 may apply for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or returned/reversed payments, plus any bank fees incurred by Lux as a result.

11. Refund Policy

If you are dissatisfied with the quality of a completed service, you must notify Lux within twenty-four (24) hours of service completion, as set out in Section 15 (Post-Service Claims & Accidents).

  • Touch-Up First. Our first remedy is to offer a touch-up or re-service of the affected area(s), scheduled within five (5) days of your notification, at no additional charge.

  • Partial Refund. If, following a good-faith touch-up attempt, the issue remains unresolved and is attributable to a deficiency in the service performed — rather than the vehicle's pre-existing condition, materials, or normal wear — Lux may issue a partial refund proportionate to the affected service, at its discretion.

  • No refund will be issued without Lux first being given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and attempt a touch-up, except where Lux determines in its sole discretion that a touch-up is not practicable.

  • Refunds are not available for dissatisfaction based solely on subjective preference where the service was performed to a professional standard, or for pre-existing conditions disclosed, or reasonably discoverable, at the initial walk-around.

  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original method of payment where possible. For services financed via a third-party provider, refunds will be processed through that provider in accordance with its policies and may take additional time to reflect on your account.

12. Property Damage & Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lux Auto Detailing Inc., its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any damage, loss, expense, cost, claim, and liability (including reasonable attorney and legal fees) arising out of Lux's services, including without limitation any accidental property damage not directly caused by the services performed. You acknowledge that the nature of mobile detailing may expose your vehicle and property to a greater risk of incidental damage, and you knowingly assume that risk.

13. Car Seats & Custom Equipment

Lux will not install or remove car seats, child safety seats, or custom equipment (including but not limited to seat covers, subwoofers, light bars, pet protectors, and bumper stickers) unless deemed absolutely necessary by the technician. Your acceptance of these Terms grants permission for such removal or installation only where deemed necessary. If you would like these items, or the areas beneath them, cleaned, please remove them prior to your appointment.

14. Photographs and Video

You grant Lux permission to take photographs or video of your vehicle for marketing purposes. Such content will not be sold or provided to third parties for their independent marketing use.

15. Post-Service Claims & Accidents

Reimbursement will not be paid for minor cosmetic issues arising from the detailing process. Reimbursement will be considered only for major damage caused by Lux's gross negligence or willful misconduct, and only where Lux has pre-approved the body shop or vendor performing any repair.

If an issue is discovered after service that was not identified during the final walk-around, you must contact Lux within twenty-four (24) hours and, where applicable, schedule a touch-up within five (5) days of that notification. Claims raised outside these windows may be declined.

You further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lux Auto Detailing Inc., its owners, employees, and affiliates from any liabilities, expenses, damages, and costs, including attorney and legal fees, resulting from any service provided or injury arising after our services have been completed, except to the extent caused by Lux's gross negligence or willful misconduct.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lux Auto Detailing Inc.'s total liability arising out of or relating to any service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that service. In no event shall Lux be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use or diminished vehicle value, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

17. Force Majeure

Lux is not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, government order, labor disputes, or other events of force majeure.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

19. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Lux's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

20. Amendments

Lux may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking governs that appointment. Continued use of Lux's services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Lux Auto Detailing Inc. with respect to the services provided and supersede all prior discussions, understandings, or agreements, whether oral or written, relating to the subject matter herein.

22. Contact
